India, for me, holds echoes of fragmented childhood memories, stories, and souls, all captured within rustic columns and infinite arches. A land of vast, green fields, lonely sunsets, and golden horizons. A different world, a distant shore, but my home away from home. I had returned to India after 5 long years away studying in Australia. This was a month filled with quintessential Punjabi experiences and people, emotional family reunions, new discoveries, and love. Not your typical "5 star comfort with a little bit of comfort thrown in," tourist experience, this is the local, hidden alleyway, ancestral, long lost countryman's reawakened experience of India.
For the month that I had spent in India, I had travelled across various cities in Punjab as well as Mumbai (also known as Bombay). I'll be focusing on my experiences in the cities of Punjab (The Royal City), Chandigarh (The Green City), and Mumbai (The City of Dreams).

Stay tuned for more posts throughout the following weeks as I take you through my journey that delves into the rich culture and heritage of my motherland, India.
